The captain Caveman is offering an exchange with cash...Why would you be wanting to get rid of your 7800GTX 512 for an X1800XT when most benchmarks show the GTX512 outperforming the X1800XT.
The thing is that i dont trust exchanges and buying from people. how do i know that your card is undamagged. I mean, you could have fried it, scratched it, droped it, and who knows what else. So how can i trust that im giving up a nearly brand new card for a card whos condition i cannot know.
So no thanks. Im much better off exchanging my card with the store i got it from, for they will give me a GTX in a box that has not been opened. And if the card in the box is broken, which is very rare, then im under warranty and have nothing to worry about.
And no thanks to SLI. I dont have a board that supports it so there is no point in considering it.
Right now i dont think performance is really the relevant issue. The real issue is the DVI signal quality. In theory, there is no such thing as all signals are either 100% or 0%. But in practice, that is not the case. My ATI car has incompatibility issues with my Eizo CG210 monitor, as this is stated on their web site. This is now the prime reason, besides another strange faw with the card, for why i need an Nvidia card, which doesn't as serious of an incompatibility issue with my monitor.
But finding the Nvidia card with the best signal just makes no sense. It would be impossible to know wether a geforce would be better than a quadro, or which of the ditributors would have the card with the best signal.
I have to figure this **** out on my own. Because i dont think anybody here will know what card has the bes signal, when there seems to be no such thing or no way of knowing.
