The hercules would probably be the best...they clock their memory at 183Mhz by deault, 166 is the nVidia spec.

Personally I prefer Asus, but they aren't quite as fast.

the oc speed doesn't do anything with the FSB of my system right??
it is just making the card fater, isn't it??

and how about others??

my budget is around 100 for this

I have a Hercules GF2MX Retail, and my buddy has a GF2MX OEM, they both kick! Just the OEM is clocked at the normal 166MHz.

Best card for the money :). I paid $120 for mine, he got his for $110.00.

BTW: The retial memory on my MX is 5.5ns.

If you're on a tight budget, go Inno3D TOrnado GF2 Mx which actually is a diamond in the rough. ;) Check out a review up here.

Do not buy the Creative DDR one. I was fooled into thing that DDR would be faster, but read some reviews and found out that it was theoretically slightly slower than SDR. But the real reason I returned it for the Hercules was that the picture was horribly fuzzy. The picture is crisp and clean on the Hercules.

It's true! It's true! The Creative GF2 MX DDR is approximately 5-10% slower thean the 128 Bit SDRAM version. Therefore, the Creative DDR is gay and that is true! ;)

Ge the cheapest you can find that is 32 meg and SDR. The main differences you find between the cards are twin view. Toms compared many manufactureres and found that they all compared virtually identically. I bought an Aopen. Leadtek is fine. Visiontek is another cheapy you can find. Since you should be using the reference drivers from Nvidia anyway, service after the fact is not really a problem. All these companies do is use Nvidias reference board design without any frills.

Now, if you actually want the MX because of the twinview and other features, you will have to shop around. I didn't buy mine for the perks, if you know what I mean. I wanted a cheap card that was fast at games. I havent been disappointed. Noticable improvement from my Tnt2 ultra.

There is no way a V4 is faster than my MX :). It comes with Tribes and Descent 3...

Get the HerculesMX... I haven't put a fan on the heatsink yet, and it's running solid at 190-Memory, 190-Core. I wasn't even trying to OC it yet ;).

hercules

the better memory makes a big difference

I oc to 200/210 no fan! I wonder what it will do if I add one?

leadtek is ok too from what i've read, but I have had excellent results with my herc mx... some people are pushing them to unbelievable levels
