Which games should I get?

My wife is being generous. I've been wanting to get Alice, and will probably get it for sure. I'm kinda torn between No One Lives Forever and Giants. Which one should I get? I Have read reviews on both and it's kinda a one way or another deal. I don't have either demos and can't afford to download over 200MB for both demos on my lousy dial up connection.

Advice?

Alice is a really cool game, its 3rd person view, and it is kinda hard untill you get used to the controls... The graphics are reallly really good, i have a Radeon 64DDR.

Definitely download the demos. Just set up your connection to d/l when you go to bed. In the morning you should have your demo.

However, I was so impressed with the Alice demo I bought it. I was somewhat disappointed in the full version because I finished it in less than 4 days (and I am no game wiz). Graphics are awesome, storyline is very good but the gameplay seems to be lacking. Do NOT play it on the easy setting.

MDK2 is another really good game - and it takes longer to finish.

My all night (8 hour) d/l demo for Giants is finishing right now - reviews are mixed.

Because of my lousy dial up too, I prefer to examine the contents of the demos provided with computer game magazines. You get a dozen or so to try for under $10 which saves alot compared to paying $30+ for something you may hate 10 minutes after installing. Heck sometimes the demo is good enough and you don't need the whole game. 🙂 Go to Gigex.com for perhaps the best way to download software. Two of the three you mentioned are there; Giants and Alice.

You may also with to check other game review sites to see if a game in question does or doesn't have alot of favorable or negative reviews.
