My clans gaming servers are down today for a reformat of our dedicated server. I'm staring at my Steam game list and cannot decide what to play.

On my list are:
AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity
Aquaria
Audiosurf
Beat Hazard
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Borderlands
Braid
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Chime
Deus Ex: game of the Year Edition
DogFighter
F1 2010
Gish
Global Agenda
GTA 1, 2, 4, San Andreas, Vice City
Half Life
Half Life 2
HL2: Ep1
HL2: Ep2
Killing Floor
Left 4 Dead 1,2
Machinerium
Metro 2033
Osmos
Penumbra: Overture
Plain Sight
Poker Night at the inventory
Ricochet
Stalker 1, 2, 3
Serious Sam All of them
Star Wars: Kotor
Unreal Tournament 2004
Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War 2
World of Goo

Can't decide what to play. All the single player games listed have not been played. What do you think would be the most worthwhile. (FWIW I also have CS:S and TF2 but as I ssaid my favorite servers are down)

Star Wars KOTOR is from like 2004...you really never played it? It's great, and should be your first thing to do.

Left 4 Dead 2 is my first coice
Boderlands is my second choice.
Fortress Forever is third - but you dont have Fortress Forevre installed. Why not? Go get it, FF is a great mod, and its free.

If you're looking for a time filler while your server is down, a lot of those indie games you listed are very much pick up and play, with no real time investment necessary. Dawn of War would also work in that scenario if you like skirmishes. The thing to keep in mind with a lot of those other games is that, while they are very good, you'll probably want to play them through to the end to get the most out of them... games like Stalker and Bioshock, for example. Definitely play them if you think you'll be able to play them enough, but their narrative nature does require some time investment.

KotOR has got to be one of the best RPGs ever created. If you're a Star Wars fan at all, it's pure bliss.

If you're in an RPG mood at all, you NEED to play it. And play it soon.
