Which game should I play first on my new setup?

Just completed building my new rig:

AMD 64 3500 939pin
ASUS VIA K8T800Pro
BFG 6800OC 128Meg
Corsair 1G 2-2-2-2-5 Ram
Audigy 2 ZS
Maxtor 250G SATA HD
Dell 2001FP LCD
Logitech Cordless Laser mouse
Logitech Corded Multimedia Keyboard


So which game should I play first. HL2 is the only one I have played, which was only for a little bit on my last computer.
 
Just toss doom in the trash.

1Start with HL2 [I havent got to play it myself, other than the demo. Its definatly going to be a good few hours of play when I get it]

Just play the demo from Doom iii . . . . the full game belongs in the toilet. 😛

HL2 is a very very good FPS and should be on your list, no matter what. 😉

Chrolicles of Riddick is a $29 game that has better gfx then HL2 (about equal to Doom iii but with BETTER character models) and SUPERB gameplay . . . . unbelievable that i would enjoy Vin Diesel in anything (well, "Pitch Black" was fair) . . . . this is a reverse case (and very very odd) - the game is great and the movies suck. 😛

Thief III (deadly shadows) has excellent gfx just below these - superb shadows and lighting - but is the best of the 'sneaker' series (and you can Rambo this one) . . . . GREAT story!

You can always play with the wife when you are tired of your new rig. 😀
