Which G.Skill DDR3 Kit?

6GB G.SKILL DDR3 1600 - 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5-1.6v

or

6GB G.SKILL DDR3 1600 PI - 8-8-8-21 @ 1.6-1.65v

They are selling for the same price. The second has tighter timings but requires a higher voltage. The other has looser timings but a noticeably lower voltage. Will I notice a significant increase in performance with the tighter timings?

I'm hoping to overclock the i7 920 to 4.0 GHz and don't want the ram to prevent a successful overclock.

I'd go with the first choice because a lot of x58 boards can't go too high on the memory voltage, but I can't speak from experience. I doubt you will see much difference between the timings.

Thanks for the heads up. I have the Gigabyte EX58-UD5 board.

It's highly unlikely you will ever see a difference in performance between the 2. Even in memory benchmarking it would be hard to tell the difference. I would also go with A since it is at stock voltage for DDR 3. (1.5 Volts)

Choice A. If you want choice B, up the voltage to product A and "viola" you will have product B. (most likely)
