I mostly posted in Programming the first 5 or so years I was here - There were quite a few folks older than me and more experienced over there.

I don't really care - just curious. The young-uns can be interesting. But they don't know how to program punch cards
 
Yeah, probably Programming.

And it's true that programming was more of a staple in the past. Consumer electronics and a broader interest in computers means most people here may not have a background or interest in programming. The most programming experience I have is an introductory course to C++.

Lol, my very first programming experience was FORTRAN on punch cards in college, which was often interrupted by Indian raids and then completely upended by the British during the height of the Revolutionary War. 😉

Commercially, I started out with COBOL on remote terminals linked to a mainframe.

I was trying to get an HP3000 to read a twisted punch tape when I heard about Napoleon's debacle at Waterloo.
