Sounds ok, but without the mushrooms it'll be wonderful.

I would wager dirt clods sauteed with butter, onions, and A1 would probably taste just as good.

In your opinion, perhaps.. but how many times have you seen "dirt clods" on a menu vs mushrooms? :D

Wow, the ignorance of people these days. Try some matsutake mushrooms and say that to the chef's face
I've had mushrooms at low quality, medium quality, and high quality restaurants. In each case, the bites without the mushroom tasted better than those bites I ate without the mushrooms. Mushrooms are fairly low in flavor and thus "water-down" the dish.

Sorry for the bad term in quotes, but there isn't a good word for what I mean to say. If you have something with strong flavors and add something with weak flavors, the net result is a less strong flavored dish. "Watered-down" is the best term I could come up with.

Plus many mushrooms, to me, taste a little like dirt. They have an earthy flavor that really doesn't go over very well with me. Sure I haven't tried all mushrooms - there may be some that you think I'd like. But just because one mushroom may taste good doesn't mean they all do.

You have an underdeveloped palate. Sorry.

They're Fungi. I'd label them as Produce though (easy way out). :)
