I'm starting to like Tahoma over Arial, but perhaps that's just me.

As much as I like wingdings and "symbol" fonts, I usually go with Verdana or Arial. Usually I go with 10 pt, unless I'm printing a HUGE requirements document for team members or something, then, to avoid having to carry around 300 pages, I'll shrink it down to size 8 and cut the margins across the page and print 2 sided ....

At my previous employer we used Arial and Times New Roman. Personally I used Verdana and Garamond until I got Office 2007 and I have since then stuck with Calibri, which I think is a fantastic font.

I actually have a 3 hour training this morning as our company is converting to Word 07 this week. I use times new roman for court documents and letters (unless it's a court that requires courier new), garamond for emails.

good luck! we've been on Office 2007 since summer of '08 and it has caused many headaches

uh oh... well my OS can't really run much slower, so I hope for improvements.

My lawyers (I support a corporate legal department) adapted pretty quickly, actually. Rule of thumb is that it's a 2-3 day adaptation period if you just know the basics of the program, or 2-3 weeks if you're more of an expert. Takes longer to remap your brain to all the changes if you knew it really well to begin with.

Arial is really popular.

My current office (accounting/business) has all PCs set to default to Georgia though.
