Which features of the iPhone 4S will not be available on the 4? 3GS? 4thG Touch?

As far as I know, Siri, and AirPlay mirroring.

Other tid bits include face recognition in the camera app, 1080p video record, and probably some pretty graphics as games that take advantage of A5 come out.

Other than that, I don't see anything else.

1080P Record, 8MP camera with backside ill sensor, 64 GB option, A5 dual core chip, Upgraded memory, Siri, 14mbps instead of 7.

Many things will come with the 4, iCloud, iOS 5, are some of the big things.

I was really just looking for the software (iOS5) differences. I know about Siri and AirPlay Mirroring. Anything else?

Anything that will work on a 4, but not a 3GS? Or the Touch?

When you say face recognition are you talking about iPhoto style face recognition tagging or the app adjusting exposure with people win the frame?

A few things like photo editing, tabbed browsing, ect.

(old but provides some insight.)

I wonder why there's no tabbed browsing. I've been using tabs via Atomic Web Browser for quite awhile now. No matter, I won't use Safari anyway... I like the ad blocking in AWB (other browsers have it too). AWB also has a full-screen mode, which is helpful when you only have a 3.5" screen to begin with.

The latter. Or more like, the camera app automatically focuses, and adjusts exposure and the rest of those tidbits (ISO and what-nots) to make sure those polka dots are very obvious when zoomed in...

On the iPhone 4, the camera just focuses to whatever is in the middle, or wherever you tap it.

AF/AE lock is available on iPhone 4 as well, though. Just hold your finger on the part of the screen and then take the shot.

As far as I can see, photo-editing, app data management through Settings, improvements to Safari, and all of the other features are there.

So strictly speaking, I'd say there is not more than 10 differences between the iPhone 4 and 4S in terms of software.

AWB? I can't find what browser you are talking about.
Oh, I found it: http://appshopper.com/productivity/atomic-web-browser

I don't have tabbed browsing in Safari with the iOS 5 GM on my iPhone 4. I think that might just be an iPad feature.

Yeah. Tabbed browsing is really an iPad-only feature. Another iPad-only feature that I noticed was that dictionary on website doesn't require Reader Mode, but on iPhone, it does require Reader Mode.

Tabbed browsing on the iPhone really isn't that bad. I've mentioned Atomic Web Browser in other threads, and it features tabs. While it does take up more screen real estate, you can just hit the full-screen button to remove all UI elements or toggle the tab button to just remove the tabs bar.
