Which fan to choose?

I have a P180 and am interested in whether the fans here:
http://svc.com/suf-s12-eb-19.html
are the choice for me.

The antec tri-cools seem to get 39cfm at 25dba and these get 42.73cfm at 22dba

What is the difference between 22dba and 25dba in real life? Is it noticable? In other words .... i will buy at least one of these fans (for the optional front intake) .... should i just buy 4 right away to save on shipping?

Another question.... i plan to overclock my x2 3800+ as high as possible (will be buying a zalman 9500 probably) i will also have a 7800gtx and quite a few hdds (4-6)

Will 43 cfm be enough for me? Are the antec tricools at 28dba and 56cfm (medium setting) too loud? i have a decent amount of tolerance for sound but i just don't know what 28dba is in real life 🙂

Any suggestions on any fans would be helpful.... sorry for the long and confusing thread 🙂

thanks

The name is good and it should last for a while, so you're okay there. I doubt if you notice any real difference between those db ratings, so I'd got with the high CFM fan. The rule of thumb is mount enough fans to air your case without overwhelming your ears. 🙂 Your box is going to generate a fair amount of heat, and if you don't run AC all the time, and overclock, you're going to need to be aggressive in terms of cooling. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Thanks for the advice man =)

I guess ill just replace the 38mm fan by the psu with a 25mm fan and get one for the intake ... maybe ill go with the L1A panaflos

I had the Antec 120 mm tri cool in the back of my computer as the exhaust!!
I didn`t think it displaced enough air so i replaced it!!

I honestly would try another brand!!

Yes the tricools are way loud IMO. Even on low the have a clearly distinct "hummm." Especially the 120x38. With a Zalman 9500 and 3 of those CM fans you linked (one intake in upper chamber, exhaust in rear, and lower chamber mid fan) you would easily be able to OC to your likings and stay very quiet. ofcourse you have so many configs for the fans so I would try and test them all to see what suits you best for noise/temp ratio. Maybe PM Dynamix about those fans and see what he says. He has three...I have one and think its a very good fan at a very good price. Lower lifetime since they are sleeve fans, but quiet. The yates are praised by many, but I cannot tell you about them since I have never used one.

I wasn`t even concerned with the loudness when i switched it all boiled down to heat displacement!!

I didn`t feel the tri cools were doing an efficient job!!
