Which Fan Controller ?

I need a fan controller for my V1000B case. Since the computer will be at my knees I've decided I don't want a dial in Rheobus like the Zalman or the Sunbeam, I know I will just hit those little knobs and mess with the fans all the time .....accidentally !

Which of these two LED Controllers would be best : Cooler Master Cooldrive or the Sunbeam Chromatic Windmill. Any real disadvantages to these two, other than not being able to quickly adjust the fans ?

Any more controllers I should consider ?

They have both been mentioned a time or two, iirc.

Do a search of this forum and see what you get.

The ones you don't want are both highly rated and used by many here.

I use the Sunbeam Rheobus myself.

I have that one as well as a PC Chips branded Zalman controller and they both work wonderfully. As for the ones the OP mentioned... no idea.

If I were to buy one of the Rheobus controllers, it would probably be the Zalman, but I know with the computer sitting near my knee I will accidentally move those knobs. This is the main reason I want a LED readout type controller. It will take deliberate action on my part to make changes.

The CM Cool Drive that I linked to is also a fan controller and reads the temps.....in addition to being a HDD cooler.

Thanks for mentioning the Aerogate, but I am not feeling that.....even though it's cheap. It seems like it will be really hard to control(no knobs) and it only has a one line display, so it's hard to tell what's going on at all times.

I am looking to replace my Zalman as I cannot shut the door of my Tsunami Dream on the control knobs. The Sunbeam Windmill was high on my replacement list until I read some reviews. The biggest issue is that fans with LEDs flicker at anything other than full load. If you plan to run em at full all the time you don't need a controller. If you don't, you need to be sure you don't have LED fans.

Also, the wires are a little tough to connect and especially to disconnect from the rear.

Finally, the dial control is reportedly quite awkward to use.

I think that depends on the fans. I have used antec LED 120mm as well as Cooler master LED 120mm fans and the grow a little dimmer at 7-9v but never flicker. They stay bright down to 10v but after that they drop off. This is using a simple zalman fan controller.

I was searching around and found this : Enermax Fan Controller. This might be a good compromise. It has a digital readout of temps and fan speed and has smaller nobs that will give you direct control over each fan, but don't look wasy to accidentally move.

I would also recommend the Enermax fan controllers, both 3.5" and 5.25"
My Skyhawk Matrix case with the motorized door wouldn't allow for knobs sticking out, so I used the 3.5" (floppy) sized Enermax controller. Kind of hard to read the rpms and such, but it does work fine.
In my main rig, I use a SuperFlower Fanmaster-and I love it.
Controls 4 fans, has 4 temp sensors and you can change the color of the display and the backplate.

The enermax controller does look cool. It between that and the Sunbeam Windmill. Just not a lot of people with the windmill ?

sweet, can you post about your experience with it? i'm not familiar with Fan Controllers so any input i can glean from other's experience is helpful to me.
