I really like my Shure E2c's

I have the Shure e2c's and to be honest, I like the JVC marshmallows better when using my ipod. I had a sony minidisc player and the shure's sounded great, but they seem to have lost any bottom end when I plugged them into my ipod.
E2C's have no bass at all, IMO.

I don't know why people keep saying this. I think they have great bass once you fit them in your ear properly, and I'm a stickler for bass in everything I listen to (car audio, home audio, portable audio). The problem is, mine don't fit in my ears very good without them sliding out over time. :|

humm mine seem to handle bass just fine

I have the E4Cs, so I don't know if the E2Cs come with this, but they have earpieces that are made of this foamy material, you can smush it into your ears and it creates a perfect seal, much better than any rubber preform ones. The bass is excellent too.
Yeah, the lower models come with it.

Question - E4C is still a single driver, right? I've been looking at the E5C for the dual drivers, think it'll give me a better bass extension.

Most IEM's will fit in your ear, however you should be very careful with this - if you get a proper seal with the right tips, you won't be able to hear a lot of what's going on around you, it's not a safe choice and I would highly recommend you approach this cautiously.

How much space do you have inbetween your helmet and your ear? The IEM won't be able to fit entirely inside of your ear and so you do need some headroom, no pun intended ;)

If yo'ure going to get teh Sennheiser CX300s, DONT. Look into the Creatives that are exactly the same but 20 bucks cheaper.

These are great budget earbuds. The soound isolation is definitely inferior to the e2cs but it has its advantages.

Well, that's pretty relative ;)

The E3C produces quite a bit more bass than the E2C, that is something I'm sure of, I've used both side by side and have no doubt in this. Personally, I find the E3C to be lacking for my desire and am looking at the E5C.

If you read the reviews, the E2C is known for not having much bass.

However - if you like them, that's great. The E2C's are better than all the lower end stuff and so you're definitely one step up, however when you ask me, I'll tell you they don't have much bass. If you go to head-fi.org, you'll find similar thoughts.

The M-Audio IE-30's are just a rebranded Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro, which sells NEW for about $170.

I said New In Box. I'd sell them for $125.

Yea, single driver. I can only go to 50% volume on my ipod with the E4Cs before it is too loud to even listen to. Haven't tried the E5Cs at all.

I love to use them in the server room where they can block out the sound of 400 servers humming away.

I always thought it was illegal to operate a motor vehicle while using earphones

I have those.....they are alright. The lack of bass is a huge issue though.

:Q

I recommend them if you choose not to get IEMs. For about $16 bucks at amazon they are very nice.
