Which digicam has fast process speed?

I am looking to convert all my old textbooks into digital images, and I thought the best way is to use a digital camera. I have a Nikon Coolpix 3200, but after each image it takes a long time to process. Are there any digital cameras that have fast speeds? I'm looking for something no more than $200, and probably with 5 MP and 3-4x optical zoom. I also prefer SD based cameras, but battery type doesn't matter much because I have had all AA batt cameras and they eat through them.
