I think dr pepper and diet dr pepper tast similarly. However I have gotten used to caffiene (sp) free diet coke. It is all that I buy now.

I drink diet soda sometimes in leiu of coffee, sugar soda, Gatorade, lemonade, or juice when I want some sugar, and water at all other times.

I started drinking diet 7-up and putting a squeeze of lemon in it. Also mixes nicely with vodka

The lemon seems to kill the "diet aftertaste" and really makes it quite good.

Try switching to plain water. If you need something with some flavor, Crystal Lite isn't bad. Also, you could try making lemonaide or Kool-Aide using Splenda. I started drinking sweet tea made with Splenda, and it is great stuff. I can hardly tell that it isn't real sugar. Of course, Splenda is pretty pricey. In my opinion, diet soda isn't worth the money. I *can* drink diet, but I don't enjoy it. Some people can make the switch, but if I had to go without real soda, I would go to water and Crystal Lite.

I think Dr.Pepper is the closest but sometimes it has a strange after taste. I also can stand Diet Pepsi and Diet Pepsis Twist, but Diet Coke is just nasty for me.

Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, it all tastes the same to me. The amount of sugar in non diet drinks is just unbelievable when you add it up yearly. Unless I feel lightheaded due to low blood sugar, I'll never go back to non diet drinks again.
