Which designers make good suits?

I just picked up a Jones New York, only one in the store that fit me right (thanks again to my excellent height or lackthereof); still had to get it altered. Haven't had a chance to wear it out yet, but it felt good while trying on. So like others said, just go for fit before brand. Only a rich snob will be able to recognize the 'designer', but everyone else will notice how well it fits you.
