I had to decide betwen the 2001FP and 2005FPW when I built my rig about a month ago. It was a hard choice, to be honest. Both are way cool. I opted for the more traditional 2001FP, because I wanted to ensure compatibility with everything. I have an AIW 9800, and I have cable hooked to it, which is all 4x3 data, so I didn't want to mess around with stretch modes (have enough of that with my widescreen TV in my living room). Also, I have a desk that has a height restriction, and the 2001FP just clears the top shelf by a few millimeters. Not sure if the 2005 would have been too tall or not, so that's really a moot point.. All in all, I am very happy with the decision I made, and would make it again. Also, I don't watch any DVD's on this computer, so that is another factor in whether to go widescreen or not. Whatever decision you make, you can't go wrong. They are both great monitors.

I have the E193FP and I find the text hard to read sometimes. When I scroll on webpages some text will change colors while I scroll. The text in my address bar of IE is thin but the text at the lower portion of the screen is much easier to read. Not sure if I should return this one (who knows what the replacement will be like).

All the regular Dell LCD (E173, E193) have the crappy text syndrome, and the only way to get rid of it is upgrading to the ultrasharps (1705, 1905, 2001, 2005 etc). My E173 also appears to be a TN panel, so it has pretty poor viewing angle, so I only use it for extra desktop real estate, and occasional gaming for games that don't do well on my 2005.

That said, I have 2405FPW because it can natively display 1080i content.
you mean 1080p right?
Nope, I meant 1080i (though it's the same difference). I don't have a source for regular 1080p content, but being able to watch NCAA Tourney and assorted CSIs in 1080i is pure TV viewing bliss.
