I was born in 1966 and was in HS in the early 80s so I got to be exposed to late 60s and 70s great music. I was into the 80s music back when I was a young man IN the 80s but now that I am 50 I realize the BEST music was in the 60s and 70s. The 80s had some good to great stuff but overall MOST of music in the 80s was shitte. Really. Don't deny it. Heres a reason why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLVIICWRbjM

Not sure I agree with you there. There was some decent music and bands that came out of the late 70s and early 80s.

U2
The Police
Men at Work
Tears for Fears
Prince
Depeche Mode
Madonna
Michael Jackson
Aerosmith

I remember when I was little getting the Ecto 1 for Christmas Eve AND the Firehouse for Christmas day. Though the day I got an NES with Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt give it some seriously stiff competition, that may very well have been the best Christmas ever.

I had to earn my NES. I sold candy bars in boy scouts. In fact, I sold so many that I beat every kid in like 6 districts. So they ran out of all the prizes to give since I won them all and I got a $100 gift certificate to Kmart. I knew what I wanted. A NES! I played that thing all night and day! My mom let me too. LOL

I was born in 1970 & was in high school in the 80's, so I should identify with the 80's, right?

But in some ways I feel like a 70's child. I have a sister & brother who are both several years older than me, so when I was just a kid they were in high school & thoroughly immersed in 70's culture. I guess some of it rubbed off.

The sixties were the best - free love, hippies, civil rights for all, great music. The seventies did have that brief period where sex could give you nothing that time and penicillin couldn't cure, but disco is simply inexcusable. Bad decade, BAD!

The Disco thing wasn't bad, I got a kick out of it. A lot of the girls were into the tight spandex thing and the Rock vs Disco thing was funny to begin with 🙂

Again, I said most, not all. And yeah, it wasn't mainstream but most 80s stuff was just as bad.

The Smiths
The Replacements
Husker Du
Tracy Chapman
Pixies
REM
Crowded House
Scandal/Patty Smyth
Plimsouls
Black Flag
Go-Go's
Depeche Mode
Psychedelic Furs
New Order
Erasure
Blondie
Pat Benatar
Eurythmics
The Jam
Missing Persons
Tears for Fears

Its just ridiculous - I could literally go on all day with the great 80s music that easily comes to mind. Yep, there was plenty of crap, but every decade has that. The 80s just had a lot better ratio of good to crap than most.

Saw this on Faceugly.

None of them really.

If I had to choose one I'd say the years 1900-1909. Dreadnoughts and pioneers of both aviation and video pornography!
