Folks around here seem to get much more excited over Black Friday than they do about Christmas so which is it?

neither. I get more excited for the first week of the NFL season more than either. I get excited for a good draught Guinness more than either. Heck, i don't even like MLB that much, but i look forward to Opening Day more than Xmas or BF.

Who needs family when you can freeze your ass off all night surrounded by random idiots in order to save $50 of a hard drive which will be $100 cheaper in two months anyway?

I've never seen what all the excitement over black friday is about.

"omg, for one day a year, we can buy things in retail stores (and pay tax) for the same price you can buy them online for 365 days/year."

for me, black friday just signifies one of two weekends I do my best to stay as far away from all shopping centers and highways as possible (the other, of course, being the weekend before christmas).
