Which CPU - 3.4C or 3.4G

I need to make a decision (soon) on which processor to buy for my Asus P4C800 Deluxe MB. I can get the Intel 3.4C GB (Northwood) or the Intel 3.4E GB (Prescott). The Prescott is $10 cheaper at Egghead. Which is the better chip. I am not a big gamer and will probably run it stock.

They are both about the same in overall performance. The E model will run a little hotter, but it's nothing to worry about. I would take the cheaper and newer (3.4E) one so I'd have SSE3 and the larger cache.

Prescott has HT improvements, SSE3 and more cache.
Northwood runs cooler, on less power and does more work per clock cycle.

I had leaned toward the 3.4E but I hadn't noticed previously that the Prescott was OEM and therefore didn't come with fan and heat sink. That's why it was cheaper. I didn't want to bother looking for other things to buy since I was already over-budget on my machine. Therefore, I went ahead and bought the Northwood. I'll have to give up the SSE3 and the larger cache. Thanks for the suggestions anyway folks.
