Which controller card for ATA 66/100?

I will be picking up a new HD (maxtor 7200 rpm) and wanted to find out which is the best controller card available.
I have an Abit BX6 rev2 MB..thxs

I used to have a Promise ATA-66 card in my old Abit LM6 board, it never gave me any problems so a Promise ATA-66/100 would be a good choice.

dugr,

do you need a new controller card because your motherboard's slots are full? If not, don't bother getting a new card. You really won't see much difference running the hard drive at Ultra 66 versus Ultra 33, the real difference is with the drive's rpm and sustainable transfer rates.

really I dont need a controller card for this drive?...Since my MB doesnt support it,if I install it will run at 33 correct? So the difference between ata33 and 66 is that small? I have plenty of open slots on my MB......

Hey thanks again for your info..though u did say the link was a bit old,I did find more updated information at this website that is making me think twice.I prolly better off getting more memory for now.... 🙂
