Why are Europe and Asia considered two continents?
Cultural differences?
There are cultural difference among the countries in "Europe". Similarly "Asia".

North and South America are a single continent and should not be listed separately.

No.

Do you have any good reason why not? Geographically speaking it's quite arbitrary to separate them.

Not really. There is a canal separating the two now. Just like Africa and Eurasia.

Now fix the pole!

Also, why is Greenland considered part of "North America" when it has a land area larger than Australia?

From a geographical standpoint, how is that any more arbitrary than separating Africa from Europe/Asia?

I personally think that the 4-continent model is the most sensible.
Afro-Eurasia
Australia
Antarctica
Americas

Australia should be considered part of Eurasia if Greenland is part of Americas. So the list should be:
Afro-Eurasia
Americas
Antarctica

WTF? Australia is really fucking far away from Eurasia unless you count all of those intervening islands. I think it's silly to include islands in continents as it kind of defies the traditional meaning of 'continent'. And I agree that Greenland shouldn't be considered part of America. It's an island nation, although quite a large one. Maybe Greenland should be a continent unto itself?

But really it shows how arbitrary the definitions are.

Not really...if you know anything about tectonic plates.

Because it is the same chunk of land.

Continents don't always end at the ocean.

Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, Antarctica. No running water or indoor plumbing. In Africa, this wouldn't be a problem as you can't drink the water and there is nothing to eat anyway.

New Zealand is part of the Australian Continent.

We've been over this, and no, it's not. If you consider Oceania to be a continent then you could say that Australia and NZ are on the same continent, but New Zealand is definitely NOT on the Australian continent.

I've only ever been in North American, and I don't feel any strong compulsion to go anywhere else.

I guess I'd have some issues with Australia - they're home to quite a few critters that are in the "most venomous in the world" category of their particular sections of the animal kingdom.

We've also been over you spelling Australia correctly in your poll. Yet you haven't fixed it. And you still haven't combined Europe and Asia.

Not all of Africa is bad. Most people fail to think about South Africa, especially places like Cape Town which is the best kept secret in the world (and home of the 2010 World Cup).
