Two possible setups:
AMD4000+ Sckt 939
Asus SLI Mobo
7900GS
2GB DDR400 RAM
80GB HDD

Or:
E6300
7600GT AGP
ASRock 4Core board
1GB DDR2 667 RAM
80GB HDD

I mainly do video editing, play CS, CSS, WC3, Guild Wars, WoW....

The first computer I can get from my friend for $200, and the second one I would buy and build myself, for ~350-400

I doubt it does as well in video editing (because it's single core), but the AMD system is by far a better value, so I'd say it comes down to how much you want to spend. Myself, I'd go with the AMD system, but that's just because I'm in college and money is tight.

This. If only because if you want another upgrade before a system overhaul you can drop an X2 processor and better graphics card into it.

Why on earth would you bother?

I mainly do video editing, play CS, CSS, WC3, Guild Wars, WoW....

That 7900GS with that processor and RAM will more than handle those games at full spec.

Buy the AMD and spend some money on some more HDD space.

The first one will be better for gaming, but the dual core will make a VERY big differance in video encoding..you could always sell the 4000+ and upgrade to an X2..

because the x1950xt is a faster card and right under the 8800gts 320MB. for the $$$, you can't beat them. also, i don't think the op told us what resolution, so for the same amount as the 2nd one, he can have a very nice gaming rig that does other stuff too - the hdds sizes are the same, so i am assuming that is enough for him. if not they are cheap enough...
