Accepted at MIT and wait-listed at RIT? 😕

According to the campus newsletter, MIT addmitted a smaller percentage as early action because a lot more people applied this year.

None yet. Most Eary Action/Decision decisions don't come in until Thursday/Friday. Didn't apply to any rolling-based schools early enough. Deferred from MIT Early Action (which is ridiculous, anyway).

I have a friend (who happens to be valedictorian) who also got deferred from MIT. He was rather pissed, as he mainly did early action to see if he needed to apply to any other colleges.

I'll be waiting for my letters of acceptance/rejection: stanford, harvard, a few UC.

Yeah, that seems to be the trend. However, it doesn't matter anymore...

Applied to Duke, Furman, USC (University of South Carolina), and Clemson. Received a letter from USC saying they accepted me. Apparently they're desperate though for people interested in IT and engineering.

What about chyall?

Where in SC are you? I live in Greenville

My brother goes to Furman, very very nice campus, he loves it there.

I've applied to Clemson, USC (South Carolina), Presbyterian College, Winthrop, and Anderson University (only b/c it was free). Only accepted to PC, since the others won't come till January

Accepted
Cal State Chico, Fullerton. San Luis Obispo Poly, Long Beach
UC Davis, San Diego, UCLA

shiet, I got deferred from MIT EA,
friends just got into Penn today. One to engineering, the other into the Management and Technology Dual Degree program.

I was 2/2 when I applied for college last year. Got accepted into UW- Eau Claire and UW- Milwaukee, and ended up going to Milwaukee, because of their program with SAP and Sun Microsystems. I'm majoring in MIS. Plus it's in a city, and I am a city person 😛

Man. It's EA time already? I remember I had to LEAVE on Dec 15th on vacation when I was applying and I called MIT and they told me over the phone that I got defferred.

Don't be sad because I had a few friends that got in with regular decision after they got deferred.

How is it time yet? Acceptances aren't even out.

Dec. 15th hasn't passed which means my StanFUrd app wasn't even due yet. I was just about at the climax of applicationw riting after turning in my UC app, my U$C app, and my MIT EA app.

Geez.

Anyways. I went 15/19

- Accepted into 8 UCs
- U$C
- Santa Clara Univ
- Georgia Tech
- Washington
- Cornell
- Carnegie Mellon
- Cal Poly SLO (safety)

REJECTED:
- StanFUrd
- MIT

Waitlisted:
- Washington Univ. St Louis
- Harvey Mudd

I never bothered to get back to the Waitlisted schools because by then I already got into UCSD, UCLA and Cal which meant my decision was lying between the top 3 UCs.

Anyways, good luck to this year's applying HS seniors.

Too many people major in Economics or Finance. At the Ivy League level, it's around 30-35%, IIRC. That's why I added Applied Math, in addition to Economics.

Wait Listed:
San Diego Community College (Early Decision)

Rejected:
Fashion Institute of Technology
Julliard
West Point
Max Planck Institute in Germany
Monte Carlo Gambling Institute (Nevada chapter)
Dolphin Training Program in Acapulco

Accepted:
Devry
Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay Chapter
Baghdad University in Iraq

I like Baghdad U. becuz of their highly regarded fashion program, their generous financial aid package and fortified housing, but the timing is kind of off with the shooting and all...

Among my other choices, I hear IIT is slightly tougher than Devry plus its more humid, so I guess I'd choose Devry (besides, those TV commercials get me amped every time, especially with that Valedictorian dude)!.......That is, unless I get into San Diego Community College (gotta love the beaches and the ladies!)

........If any of you guys can clear my head about my existing choices, that'd be great! My choices are really compelling and driving me CRAZY!..........

Please include your current home state or location. I'm interested in seeing if your college choices are based on your proximity.

So you're incredibly good at quantitative stuff, but can't interface with humans, right?
