Which cell provider would you choose: Sprint or Verizon?

I have narrowed it down to these two. Which would you choose for a cell phone and wireless net access on your phone?


(Don't even mention any other company, these are the only 2 options I have)

Sprint. I've been on Sprint for just shy of a year now and the service is great. I never have any problems except the occasional dropped call, but I get credited for every dropped call.

Sprint. Aside from their customer service, they are just a better company, IMO.

i had both. verizon because i get service everywhere i go.

sprint. they will have 3G this summer, i'm told. thats faster data xmission than you can shake a stick at.

I'm with SprintPCS. They have good coverage of Texas.

Verizon's website is cooler though.

Verizon has the best network around here. They're lacking in phone selection but I think the quality of service and network matters more.

Verizon.. My g/f has Sprint PCS and hates it and her bills are twice as much as mine plus everytime she comes my house she's roaming and has to pay charges.. everytime I go to her house it says roaming BUT Verizon never charges me for it as long as I'm in TN. Plus I get free long distance anywhere in the US PLUS they give you all that other neato stuff (ie. Voice Mail, 3-Way Calling, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Instant Messanger, etc.) Free. PLUS I had coverage everywhere I go and the bill is always one rate for 550 Daytime minutes and 3500 night and weekend minutes and there customer service is GREAT.

hmm i get ALL of that with Sprint too. only time i have had roaming come up is when i am in bumfvck nowhere or in the mountains.

Verizon. Absolutely, hands down. They're on 800 MHz in most of their markets, which is better IMHO. When the Verizon signal fades, the phone will roam onto Sprint for free on all of their current plans. Why go with Sprint and their non-existant customer service (they're always way understaffed at the phones when you need to call, resulting in hold times that frequently exceed 1 hour) when you can have Sprint and Verizon (Alltel too!) on one plan?

hmm i've never used verizon so i don't know about their customer service. as for sprint, i've had my phone for three years and the only time i have called customer service is to activate my phone. so i guess CS doesn't really mean much to me.

I have Verizon, so, that's my recommendation. I've had no problems with them whatsoever.

Sprint PCS here. Works like a champ for me.

Both using CDMA system, shouldn't be too much different in "performance". Since Verizon contract w/ SprintPCS for roaming and vice versa.

Both rushing their 3G system by Aug to compete w/ current GPRS of GSM (well, it is more of 2.5G, not true 3G), so the service in some area may be little freasky.
ONLY 3G DATA + Voice phone ready for them is Samsung A460 and LG 1010.

All other phone are only 3G VOICE ready but NOT 3G DATA ready, that's why you see lots SALE on sprint phone now.
