Which CD-RW?

My Plextor SCSI CD-RW just took a crap and its out of warranty. The way things look with IDE write speeds and burn proof technologies, its probably best to buy an IDE CD-RW. Which writer is currently the best? I don't want to spend too much, say no more than $250. I don't want to buy Plextor again either. This is the 2nd Plextor i've had fail on me.

If you don't want Plex, I'd go with Teac.

The best performance/price ratio CD-RW that I found is the Lite-On 16x/10x/40x i believe, at newegg.com. It's being shipped to me now as I speak.

Edit: Costs 135 with shipping and handling, dang, i bought it for 140, DOH!

that sounds like a helluva deal. What drive does the Lite-On use? I have a Lite-On case and luv it.....=0

Don't forget to look into Yamaha, Sanyo and Richo. All have some excellent drives.
