Which catalyst version to choose ?

While surfing thru the net comparing my 3dmark scores, I noticed a lot of people in the last month posting thier insane scores using Catalyst 6.6 when 6.9 is out. Is there something I should know that I'm missing out on ? Does Catalyst 6.6 run faster than 6.7- 6.9 ? And if so are there any other big diff's ?
