Which case...

Any feedback you guys have on these three cases would be appreciated (sorry about the newegg links):

Cooler Master Cosmos S RC-1100

Cooler Master ATCS 840 RC-840

ABS Black Pearl

I hate picking out cases because its so hard to tell what you got until you get it. For reference i have been living with a SS Temjin 5 for the 3-4 years.

I really like the look of the Black Pearl, but I've always been skeptical of the "upside down" mounting that LL cases and this one use.

I'd probably go for the 840, or consider the Silverstone FT01.

I agree. Thanks for the input zagood. But the upside down thing seems to be beneficial for some cases. I looked at the FT01 and just eliminated it from my list in favor of the 840 (i had to start some where before i sought out help ). I dont "necessarily" have a budget (shit, i was looking at the Canyon/PCX2000, but thats just too much), but i wanted cases that were in the same price range. It makes the competition fierce.

The Black Pearl is basically an OEM case made by Lian Li sold under several other companies' labels (Tagan, A-Plus and ABS at least). You can see more about it on the European Maxpoint, A-Plus or Tagan sites. I don't care much for the inverse arrangement either. You may be able to get similar cheaper under the L-L label. It's available from ~$210. up per Google's Shopping service (the APlus branded one). Of course, ABS being an affiliate of Newegg (actually Newegg was started as a way for ABS to get its parts costs down and now it's much bigger than its ABS parent), it's likely the Egg is the only place to buy the case under the ABS name if that's important to you.

Apparently this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16800995019 - is the "gaming chair" that comes with the ABS version from the egg.

the atcs 840 has a lot to like about it, might want to also look at the silverstone tj07 and the 09/10 as they are great cases). Cosmos is nice but probably the weakest of the 3.
What do you want the case for (how many hard drives,optical drives, expansion cards (ie would a case with extra pci slots be useful) , lots of air, water, silent, massive overclock...)? Answering those questions might help in recommending a case.

I have the Cosmos S and love it. It is huge and lots of room for lots of stuff. I got mine for $99 at Fry's in store special a couple of months back.

Just in case you settle on the ATCS 840, SVC.com just put both colors on sale for $199., but their shipping can be quite high.

I will OC a bit, no water though. I find that i tend to expand the number of drives (my current rig started with 2 and now has 6), but just one or two optical. I am concerned about noise with this one, my temjin 5 is quite loud. Also i dont like that my current case has negative pressure and many open (unfiltered) cutouts. I blow it out once every few months. Also, i have looked at probably every case out there and narrowed it down to these three. Im currently leaning toward the atcs 840.

I think the Black Pearl is the best looking......for what that's worth. I also know several guys with both the Cosmos and ATCS (jumped on that upon launch)....but I don't know anyone personally with the Black Pearl, which has merit for some.

blackpearl looks good, but is there an open mesh side? possibly a dust vaccum.

I also second the cosmos. Easy to work with, plenty of space, Triple rad mount support on the top.

hi! those boxes are huge! i like the black pearl, right up until the side panel.

i think there's no longer any reason to fear the upside down mobo mounting. *does not own such a case yet*

what do you think of the PC-A70 or silverstone kublai series?

PCa70 looks good. I think you can easily connect 2 MCR220 in the front
