Which case?

I am thinking about upgrading my current cpu case since it is almost 10 years old and is still running a 235 W power supply. I was looking at the Antec 3700 BQE based on a review at www.silentpcreview.com but was wondering if it is really worth the extra $60 dollars to buy a "name brand" case vs. just the cheapest 500W power supply case at pricewatch. So my question is, what makes the name brand case worth paying more for?

Also, are there any other nice cases I should consider over the 3700BQE given that I really only want a simple case that is relatively quiet. Don't care if it is heavy or if it is made from aluminum since cooling just isn't a problem and I really don't mind lifting an extra 5 pounds the one time a year I actually move my comp.

No matter what a cheap Case with a 500wt PSU will probably cause problems so the Antec looks good cause if you get a cheap Case then the Metal may be thin and you'll end up getting a new PSU to boot! BTW Alm. Casews may benefit the cooling by 1 or 2C's which can be offset woth an extra fan.

The Antec SLK3700BQE/AMD are both very good cases that comes with equally good PSUs, although it might be a tad loud for some people's tastes

I'd say it's more than worth the $$$ to get the Antecs. IMHO, you get a lot for the money you pay for the Antec cases.

I thought the 3700BQE was supposed to be a relatively quiet case based on the review at silentpc. Is this not the case?

My thought is - you kept the last case for a reallllly long time, and it must have been a good one to last. If you get that Antec, you'll be able to do that again.

If not, you'll be hunting again in a year or two.
