Which case should I get for my EVO?

I've read the amazon reviews for the cases and otterbox/seidio both seem to average 2.5-3. There doesn't seem to be a clear decision as to which is the better case, guide me with your wisdom AT phone people.

Mine is still naked. I've had it for a month and still haven't found a case I like. It seems like either the reviews say the screen isn't as responsive one you put it in the case or the buttons don't work as well. Always something...

Purely IMO, but unless you're constantly taking your phone into "hazardous" environments (parties, moving furniture, playing sports with it in your pocket, etc.) or are just generally clumsy, there's really no need for a case. They tend to just add bulk, and I find that other than a simple drop on pavement or tile, the case won't protect against the damage that would have broken the phone anyway.

For example, I had LG-something or other back in the days when the Motorola Razr was popular, and it was in a case in my pocket. We were moving a desk out of my boss's office, and it slid out of my hands and landed on my thigh. The pressure from the desk cracked the screen right through the case.

On the other hand, if you do happen to be the type that drops your phone on the ground fairly often, I'd go with an Otterbox. It adds a LOT of bulk, but it's really the only thing I'd trust to actually protect the phone. Don't believe any of the "my friend ran my phone over with his car, and the Otterbox saved it!" BS, but aside from a lot of pressure or a one-in-a-million drop screen first on a pointy object (corner of a table, etc.), it'll make a difference.

Well I cracked the screen on my iphone (after SEVERAL drops), so I would say I am the clumsy type. I hate adding bulk to the phone though :\

I just had a Zagg invisible shield put on my EVO today.

I really suck at putting them on, had them do it for $5.

The Zagg products look good, but it will do nothing for me dropping the phone like a goober.

I just have a Jelly Case to absorb some if I drop it. It has done its job a few times.

Phone looks mint since its always in the case.

yeah, mine has been naked since day 1. I'd say, these companies spend millions of dollars designing this phone (or copying a design), why ruin their design with a case? Keep it naked! Especially when it has some pretty sturdy gorilla like glass!

EVO doesn't have gorilla glass and will scratch. Mine is naked with a screen protector. Don't think it has a scratch on it. I would rather have a slim naked phone with a couple scratches on the body than a bulky phone in a case.

Same here. I got mine off of eBay for $7 shipped and was shocked it fit perfectly considering this was right after the EVO launched. It's saved my phone from one fall on a very hard airport floor so it's more than paid for itself. My screen is naked and completely scratch-free...hooray for glass over plastic.

The Sprint store had the HTC jelly case and a set of 3 screen protectors for $20, so I picked that up. I do not really like the case because it is a lint magnet when it is in my pocket.
