Which case is better?

I currently have the case from a Micron Millenia GS. I think its a converted Palo Alto ATCX. I'm thinking of getting the Antec SX830 or KS280. Which one is better? I want to get the best cooled/quietest one.

Or can you suggest any better cases?

sx830 by far... Antec ships it with 24db/24cfm fans(not the same fans they sell on their website)...

And it has space for 4 built in fans, the ks-280, if I remember right, has only 1.

Thanks man, you're awesome. You always seem to pop up when I have a question. How about between the SX830 and the Enlight 7237? I'm still thinking that the sx830 is better, but I've heard that the 7237 is really quiet.

I've found that the Englight 7237 works well for me. It's got ample room to work with (for a mid-tower), unless you really need to use alot of drives. As for cooling, it comes with one 80mm intake fan in front (mine came with a Sunon fan, but I don't know if all do), and has a mounting area for another 80mm exhause fan in the back. It also has pretty much screwless entry, which I love. Only thing I don't like is that the 5.25" bays use drive rails, which I don't like. So I can say that the 7237 couldn't be a bad choice, but the Antec SX830 could well be better. I've never used one of those.

thanks. i ordered th sx830 from onvia, 4 silencers from pp&c, and some grommets from subzeropc. i've heard that antec has pretty quiet power supplies. i want it to be as quiet as possible, cuz i intend to leave it on 24/7. i also picked up a hard drive silencer.

The sx series antecs do seem ugly to some people. They seem to be manufactured by Chenming Mold Co. Chieftec markets the same case as the sx1030 with more traditional front bezels as a workstation-class case. I've never actually seen them for sale anywhere. I could post some links to cases so ugly that I might have to obtain written waivers to allow viewing. Want 'em, you perverts?

Ugly? Bah, its far more elegant than those pure white boxes you see, IMO of course.😛

I recently recieved mine, and I can honestly say that this case is VERY nice. You've got something nice to look forward to.🙂1`

There isn't a standard PC case in existence that looks good. 99% of them are beige only. The colour ones all look cheap and like they're ready to fall apart. Even the black ones look lame, because they just look like a standard beige one in basically all respects, except colour - and it's hard to find matching components.

For this reason, I'd never considering putting a PC in a nice living room. Maybe a laptop, or possibly a Mac.

is the sx830 athlon approved??? also, does it use drive rails? just wondering because i have a dvd drive and a cdrw drive and was wondering if i needed to get more

The power supply thats comes w/ the sx830 is athlon approved. Mine came with the right number of drive rails and are pretty easy to use...

I just bought the SX830 and love it. Has a Enlight case and the Antec beats it hands down. You can't go wrong with this case.

what floppy drive will fit the recessed floppy bay on the sx830? any suggestions as to what i should get (hopefully it will be cheap)

Any standard newer floppy drive will fit and work fine in the sx-830. Its just a slot in the bezel.......the floppy is fully intact behind the bezel. A small button on the the front pushes the button for the floppy inside. Dont worry about a new floppy.......you wont need it!
