I have £~225 (yes, funny money :p)

Options are:
TerraTec Geforce FX Mystify 5800 128MB DDR2,TV-Out, DVI, Retail £202.66 (+£7 P&P)
Sapphire Radeon 9800 128MB 8x AGP TV-Out DVI Retail Box £212.19 (free P&P)
eVGA GeForce FX5900 128MB DDR AGP8X w/ DVI TV-Out - Retail Box £209.19 (free P&P)
Asus ATI Radeon 9600XT/TVD 128MB & Half Life 2 Bundle - Retail £165.15 (£10 P&P)
Tyan Tachyon Radeon G9600PRO 8xAGP 128MB DDR VGA/DVI/S-Video/Hardware Monitoring Retail Box £117.49 (free P&P)

I have a GF 4 Ti4400 at the moment with XP1900+ and KT266A chipset, 1GB PC2100 RAM, looking to get a Barton 2500+, NForce2, 512MB PC3200 around Christmas time.

Which card would be best for the price? (UK stores only for other suggestions)

I'm leaning towards the 9600XT (because of the bundle) or the Sapphire 9800, because most people who reviewed it (on the sellers website) got it easily to Pro speed.

I'm going to be doing a full reinstall of Windows anyway when I get the card, so I'm not too worried about driver issues, my install is messed up already.

I play mostly Unreal Tournament (1), GTA:VC.

More likely to get HL2, Deus Ex 2, UT2k4 than Doom 3 and its ilk.

9600XT is going to be a real nice card and HL2 is a nice bonus, but no matter how you slice it, the 9800 will be a lot faster at higher resolutions (above 1024x768).

I would wait to see how 9600xt shows up on benchmarks before you decide, you have a fine card that will last you until christmas time, 9600XT will be out someone next month, prolly around thanksgiving, so i would wait to see how that is and all, thats what i am doing personally at least.

The 9800 is so much faster than those other cards. If you got the money, then the choice is easy.

I have the same problem, choosing between the 9600xt and 9800np. I currently have an ATI 9800np (retail, made by ATI, got for $250.00). I'm thinking about returning it and wait for the 9600xt. I got the card a week ago, but seens reading about the 9600xt I haven't even opened the 9800np cause I can't decide whether to keep it or not.

It's silly to choose the 9800NP over the 5900... the 5900 is all around faster.

Tomorrow I'll probably be ordering the Sapphire 9800 non-Pro card. Assuming all goes to plan.

Just got to check I can't get it for any cheaper.

Anyone know of a UK price for a 9800Pro (in stock) that's less than £219 including delivery?
