Which car looks better, BMW 3 or Lexus IS350?

huh? the interior of the lexus is way better than the bmw. Feels more luxurious to me. The leather is softer, all the gauges look better in the IS, the instrument panel has a more modern feel. BMW has basically stuck w/ the same classic amber style interior for a decade.

Also if you're choosing the nav option, even bimmer owners at bimmerfest.com agree japanese nav units are a few steps ahead of german nav units. One example is no touch screen for the bmw nav.

But i guess 3 series owners only really care about performance, and that is where bmw is the best at.

I'm not replying to the OP, I'm replying to a comment that hates on a company without any sort of backup or explanation. If he hates the IS350, he should have written "I hate the Lexus," not "I hate Lexus" in general. Without any sort of reason, he's basically thread-crapping.

Really? In my opinion, Lexus's interiors are easily the best in the industry. Better leather, better build quality, the panel fit is seamless, the ergonomics are better, and the touch-screen nav unit trumps the I-Drive any day of the week and twice on sunday. My fiancee drives a Lexus IS300, I own an Audi A4, and one of our good friends has a 330i. Having also spent extensive time in an S500 (my aunt's) and a CLK 500 (my fiancee's maid of honor's), I can tell you that when it comes to interiors, Lexus>Audi>Mercedes>BMW (just my $0.02). Infiniti goes at the bottom of this list (after having seen the interior of my friend's G35 coupe).

It sounded to me like you're the fanboy who became defensive the moment you thought someone said something negative about Lexus.
 
I don't like the new BMW styling at all, so Lexus wins by default.

Although, IMO this poll needs more options. I know this may come as a shock to you and a lot of other people, but there are other sport luxury cars out there not made by BMW or Lexus.

I reread his comment and I take back what I said about the whole "the lexus" and "lexus" bit. Sorry about that. However, I still stand by what I said regarding the post in general.

I didn't think someone said something negative; someone did. I'm pretty sure when someone says "I hate the Lexus," you can construe it as a negative comment. I wasn't irritated with him when he said something bad about the Lexus--I got irritated because it was just a blanket statement with no facts or concrete comments about why he hates it.

I'll admit I like Lexus. I'll also say that I love BMWs. They are clearly far ahead of everyone (except maybe Porsche and Ferrari) when it comes to driving dynamics, and no one makes a better driving car for $35K than them.

You don't see me saying, "I love Lexus!" without explaining why. By the same token, I would expect someone who hates them to explain why. It has nothing to do with being defensive, it has to do with me being irritated with people who throw crap into threads without being constructive.
 
Cars in the shop all the time is not sexy to me... I'll go with the Japanese car. Germans can't make anything reliable.

Those don't really appeal to my strange tastes either. You should probably discount my opinion entirely 😛
I'm sure they're great cars, but I just don't find them aesthetically pleasing. In that price range, I'd probably go for a Volvo V70R wagon.
 
The 3 series is a nice looking car but the lexus is350 looks better. The inward creae in the 3 series doors is pretty ugly. The is350's rear is uglier than the 3series rear, but the IS from all other angles pulls off a more muscular flowing design. The 3 series seems like there were some forced curves; Crease along doors, hood and bottom middle front of air dam. Dosent fit the car.
