I think that you have those engine displacements backward. The Accord has a SOHC 16v 2.2L and the Celica has a DOHC 16v 2.0L.
I think it would be a close race whith the edge going to the Celica. The Accord, which the EPA classified as a MID-SIZE in '93 (if memory serves,) probably weighs 400-700 pounds more than the tiny, sub-compact Celica. If you guys ever find out (on a closed track,

2.0 Eclipse weak? Compared to what? An Eclipse turbo? Yes. A Mirage? No way! I've test driven the base Eclipse and it was plenty powerful (gawd, even somewhat fun) for every day driving.
