That Jag at 2000 will need a considerable amount of restoration for most people to be happy with it.

Didn't know cost was a factor when looking at 'great' cars.

There are loads for £2k / £3k. Quite high miles obviously 75,000 miles + so yeah they will need work.

It isn't, otherwise I wouldn't have included a million pound CX-75 in my list...

I've owned two mass production car that can do 0-60 under 4s recently. When you can find that for 60k USD or less then I don't find it as spectacular.

One was the 6th best handling car of 2011 according to MT.

They certainly aren't, I really like the CTS-V, hate the corvette but that's anothe thread entirely. Cool cars :thumbsup:

Edit: Yep, CTS-V 0-60 3.9 seconds! Impressive, according to one article it's the worlds fastest saloon car, I don't think that's true, but it's still very cool.

I'm a observer/appreciator of the Corvette which is why I got rid of it. Meaning, I like the way it looks and sounds, but there were many things I disliked about it. Probably why the V or M3 is more up my alley.

I definitely have ultimate respect for the CTS V, particularly given the 0-60 figure and the nurburgring time which I didn't know about until this thread, the corvette irritates me, It looks OK but it's bloody massive and it feels cheap, hate the plastics, not a fan of the interior, I've never been a fan of the "put a massive engine in it and it will be fast" mentality that, cars like that adhere to, it's the reason I'm not a big fan of the big mercedes, they just put absurdly large engines in them, with too much power.

Well you also have to align that with are they cash purchases or being lent on, and what are the monthly maintenance costs 🙂

It matches your link quite a bit and why I am in a 2006 M3 instead of a LS2 or 7 powered 1998 240SX SE 😉. I just witnessed and LS9 in a E49 race car (no real interior, full cage, quick change body panels) and it still kept the 50/50 (with driver) distribution once corner weighted.

Yeah, that MT article is exactly why I get rid of the Vette. It's a great handling car, but from a driver perspective I did not enjoy it. The CTS is more agreeable with my daily driving needs and if the M3 had a boosted V8, I'm sure I would have looked at it also. I'm hoping that the '14 M3 is exactly what I want in a car.

My Mother-In-Law owned a Jaguar XJ6 and my old boss had an V12 XJS. Both were horrible horrible cars. They had nice coachwork and were heavy sturdy vehicles but reliable they were not. I swear every time they went in the shop (and this was 2-3 times a year) it cost anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 in repair bills. That stupid Jag was the only car that my Mom-In-Law has owned during the last 20 years that has left her stranded on the side of the road...and it did that a few times.

And where are you going to keep those 24 parts cars? LOL! 😀

My friend owns a Jag MKIII that cost him £2k and £6k in repair bills. He's had it four years and so in total it's cost him...

£8k.

Old Jags are unreliable, we know that, it doesn't mean it will cost £48,000 to repair it. That is absurd.

We were, I listed my thoughts on car 0-60 times and said that certain car brackets contain cars that are either very fast cars or cars that are only fast in a straight line.

they have made 9 versions of the zonda, zonda C12, zonda S ,zonda S 7.3, zonda roadster, zonda f, zonda roadster f, zonda cinque, zonda cinque roadster and the zonda tricolore. also have you seen pagani's carbon-titanium weaves? i haven't seen any other car company do that.

Well the company I listed had 12 cars, but if you're going to include different variations of the same car then it had the XK, the XKR, the XKRS, The convertible XK, the convertible XKR, the XK8, the XK8R, the convertible XK8, the convertible XK8R the XKRR etc etc etc.
