Which capture card ?

I can say though I like the pinnacle software for editing as it seems easier to move around in I have experience now with the ulead video studio and I like it a lot!!!!

I would lean towards the leadtek IMO....feautures....Who offers the greatest support features and connections???

I know you likely have a vid card, but I have to tell you I have loved my recent pruchase of a ati 8500DV....Wow...I have had no issues and all the features work....I can capture mpeg1 and 2 and set all the rates...I can capture to divx and any other codec present in my pc....It has tv shifting and tv on demand...very nice...

Contrary to bitching the digital tuner looks no worse no better then the older analog one that I had oin my tv wonder....Good cable and connections and if you want a cheap attenuator from radio shack and the signal looks as good as my TV gets (I think that looks good)....

From all the posts Ive gathered here over time, the Leadtek seems to be the best budget vid capture card. I have the ATI TV Wonder, which I had for some time. I was building a machine for my cousin, and I put the Leaktek card in there. Its a nice card with great drivers. Ive heard iffy things about Pinnacle cards and support, though Huappague seems to get pretty good reviews here. Leadtek seems to offer the best support for Win2K/XP, so it has the best long viability IMO.

Now if you are prepared to spend high dollar, there is the Telemann Hipix card...

Well I thought about a cheap ATI All in wonder card but I don't think it would have played nicely with my Nvidia GF4 ( Driers conflict ? )

Asus TV 880 or Leadtek Winfast 2000XP seem to be the best out right now under $100, especially if you're running Win2k or XP. I'm using the Asus and I love it.

After having quite atrocious experiences with two Pinnacle cards (first the PCTV, then the DC10+), I'll toss in another thumbs up for the Leadtek. I've got the deluxe card, it's been quite good to me. Features galore.

On a tangent, from what people have been saying here, I've also heard very good things about the VIVO features on ATI video cards, but I change my video card so often, it's not worth it to pay for the VIVO features each time I upgrade. I like having a capture card staying with me through all the changes my system goes through. 😉

Where the hell did you get the Asus card? I can only find a few small questionable shops that carry it.
