Which burners can burn SD2 cd's?

With the aid of weak sector amplification features in CloneCD and BlindWrite, almost any burner can copy SD2 protected discs.

Can you tell us more details on that? 'cause that can save me the burden of buying another burner just to copy SD2 discs.

Ever since CloneCD version 3.2.1.1 and BlindWrite 1.1.0.7 IIRC, there has been a feature available that will amplify the sectors of the SD2 signature when burning. There were legal problems anticipated if this feature were to be released with CloneCD for sale in the US, so CloneCD checks your regional settings in Windows, and if they're set to US, the weak sector amplification is disabled. It's easy to work around this by setting the region to Canada or Zimbabwe though. Some people have changed their region and still have AW disabled, in this case you can search for 'CloneAMP' and use that, or try searching your registry for 'amplifyweak' and set it to 1. It works marvelously, as my Lite-On 16X could not back up SD2 without AW, and I backed up MOH:AA with AW just fine 🙂

Check out this site: CloneCD.net

On the main page there is a link to a program called BetaBlocker. What you do is save an image of the CD on your hard disk, then drag & drop the image into BetaBlocker. It will scan the image for 15-20 seconds for sectors that need to be patched and make corrections. Then you just burn the patched image.
