Which burner software for Samsung SW-216 under Windows XP ?

Installed a Samsung SW-216 CDRW 16X for a friend under Windows XP.

The bundled software seems to have a dead end with no free updates
(Roxio CD Creator 4.0) for Windows XP.

Installed a demo version of Nero and it is noticably slow.

Finally, got it to work with Windows Media Player which runs fast
but does not support easy/convenient way of doing things.

Anyone have any ideas what could be possibly wrong here ?

 
The latest Nero is great. I have tried for over a week now to Get EZCD running well. I can burn with it, but that is it. It lags to much to try to work on anything else. Nero burns just fine for me.
 
Yeah, except Nero did not seem to work either. Was extremely slow.
Maybe I need like a firmware update for the CDRW ?
