I have a BFG now, but i liked the Leadtek i had before better.

Leadtek, then BFG, then eVGA IMO.

Oh yeah, why?

Hey guys, I do have a question about BFG, if I change the cooler on it for a more silencer one, does the lifetime warranty is void ?

Everyone's warranty is void when you replace the heatsink or overclock.

I would stay far away from xfx - there have been numerous problems with their 6800gt's, and the ultra is basicly the same thing. They seem to use lower quality parts than the other brands.

never had a problem with my agp xfx 6800GT, is the the PCI-E that they are having issues with?

Maybe wait a few days until Computex starts to see if nV will announce their next generation cards. It seems a bit late to me to buy a 6800U at practically full price. We're more than a year out from its launch and probably just a couple of months away from the next gen.

I agree that if you want to pay this much for a GPU, you're better off paying a little more to get one with a quiet cooler from the start. You save yourself the pain of replacing the cooler, and you keep the warranty.

oh, don't worry about it, I'll buy it this summer, after I will have moved to my new appartment, so I'm expecting a considerable drop in the price. As for replacing the fan, I don't really care about the warranty, who ever toasted his video card while not even downclocking or overclocking? Nobody... If it's warranty lifetime, it's because the product is damn good. As for the fan, I'll see if it hurting my ears. If it is really agressive, I may get an Artic Cooler Silencer, Zalman VF700-Cu or a passive solution.

yes it does, because nvidia never put out a card to compete with a x850. but still they are so rare. it doesn't matter what brand of card you get, they all are the same gpu, just the games and warranties bundled with them are the important part. some may overclock better and some may be overclocked when you buy them.

Well, fisrt of all, I'm nVidia all the way 🙂 . Also, I want a 6800Ultra, because I known thet the price are going down a bit in the next months, because nVidia should announce his 7800 series.

Presently the damn card I want is $825.00 CAD... too much expensive. Just have to wait around 30 to 50 days, and I'll have it around $500.00 CAD or less.
