Which brand of gas you prefer?

Down the road from my neighborhood is a gasoline depot. I see the trucks from every brand fill up at the same spigots everyday.

It's all the same, for the most part.

Shell gas is great. It's the color of blood:

Ken Saro-Wiwa and 8 others were tried and executed for murder in late 1996. The real reason for the execution of these people was that they were leading the protest by the Ogoni nation in Nigeria against Shell's operations there. Ken Saro Wiwa played an important part in leading the protest against the exploitation of Ogoni lands and Ogoni people by oil giants such as Shell. As media interest in the trial peaked, Shell Oil was forced to admit that they had supplied guns to the Nigerian government. Nineteen others are still detained without charge for their involvement in the anti-Shell movement.

Costco if it's on the way to where I'm going... otherwise Mobil or 76, although I'm beginning to really like Chevron because they're the only ones that have really soapy water with squeegees in very good condition.

Chevron, but that's only because the station is about 200 yards from my apartment complex.

I'd go one further and say it's all the same for every part. I doubt that even a petrochemical engineer could tell you which brand was which in a blind random sampling.

Well, each brand supposedly adds their own additives. But they must already be in the truck when they come fill up at the depot, because they go straight from the depot to the individual filling stations and never stop to "add" anything.

there are only 2 kinds the high octane and low octane
all the stores and brands get those two from the same place
some brands add in detergent in the truck
there is a blender in the pumps which mixes the two octanes when you want the middle octane one

Nice unbelievable quote without some links for evidence.

Sunoco Gold Diesel when I can get it (hard to find, no station that sells it near me), but usually it's Shell ULSD fuel. 🙂
