There all really close but I only buy Samsung. Best quality for price. Why 7200 if your buying 2 Tb. Not really nessesary. My Samsung F4 2Tb averages 115 Mbs, Best part is I bought it 6 months ago for $70. Sorry didnnt mean to rub that one in

Why not 7200 for a 2TB? I'll take a 7200 over a 5400 any day, even if it is just a storage drive.

I'd recommend a western digital caviar black. Having said that I recently picked up a seagate 2Tb barracuda 7200rpm....160mb/s read and 158 write mb/s. Seems like a lot of people got DOA drives though, keeping my fingers crossed.

You mean Seagate, right? http://www.dailytech.com/Seagate+Completes+Purchase+of+Samsungs+HDD+Business/article23562.htm

There are only 2 players left in the hdd market: WD and Seagate. The caviar black is probably the best/most reliable hdd out there, and it has a 5 yr warranty instead of 1-2 yrs like all other drives from both companies now. It does tend to be rather loud, however, but I'd probably still go with it if the price is close.

Yeah, it kinda looks like Samsung is getting out of the spinner business: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage
When the Koreans move away from one technology and toward another, it's likely for a good reason. I really like my two F1s, but the are beginning to feel archaic. My next SSD will probably be a Samsung.

Thats too bad. Ive sent more Seagate drives back then any other drive. Just sent one back and they sent me another drive with bad sectors.
