Which Batman game should I get?

They're all on sale.
There's
Arkham City
Arkham Asylum
Arkham Origins

They're $8 each. If I like one I'll probably preorder knight. Origins looks really nice, being the newest, but people say it's just a buggy copy-paste of the others.
Thoughts?

Go with Arkham Asylum or City. City is my favorite of all but you can't go wrong with either of those two.

While I've not yet played Origins, the reviews on it were mixed.

I know I am a small minority but I only tried one (asylum) and didn't care for it at all. So I say buy the cheapest :)

Start with Asylum. Then do City. Follow those up with Origins.

I would go with this keeping in mind you most likely won't enjoy playing through Asylum if you play City first. Asylum was good but City was much more polished with better controls and fight mechanics. Going from City to Asylum, you really notice the differences.

These were a daily deal on the second day of the Steam sale. There's a good chance they could show up again on a recap day.

I would start with Aslyum and then go to City. While the play definitely improved from Asylum to City the story in Asylum was very good and there are a fair number of references to it in City.

Sounds like a plan.

I might wait. I am leaving my house again on the 1st and school starts on the 6th so I might not. Also might have a deal cheaper than steam coming up.

Good to know.

Thanks to all of you!

All three are good, but if I had to rank them I would say that city>asylum>>origins.

I finished AA and enjoyed it quite a bit. I played AC but didn't play it as long as I played AA. I'll probably revisit it eventually. I don't own/haven't played AO.

I'm a die-hard KB/M user, but I enjoyed using an Xbox controller for AA and AC.

I only tried Arkham City, and while I loved the combat mechanics and how it made me feel like I was a legitimate badass who could take on room fulls of bad guys right from the get-go, I also was put out by the character switching, which happened far earlier in the game than I would have liked. As such, I gave up on it very soon in. I've got to go back and retry it; the brief couple hours I put in were excellent.

For what it's worth, outside of collecting everything, you play far more as Batman than as the other character.

I played through AA and enjoyed it. I got AC and played it about 30 hours and got bored. I tried again, and again got bored. I'm not sure what it was, but I definitely preferred AA. It is the start of the series, so you might as well start there.

Another problem is Steam now region locks games. Unless you live in Brazil, you don't want to buy from there.

most of their keys are ROW (rest of world) unless it's specified as region locked. this one works fine in NA. still a good point to bring up though. Didn't realize it doesn't come with asylums though.

I'd say get Asylum first, but City would be a fine jumping in point as well. Make sure you have a gamepad though.

Asylum then city, then wait for the next one to come out since origins was so lame.
