Dang I can't believe someone said "lords of acid" - man those ppl are NASTY!

I don't listen to their style of music, because I'm into trance, but I like lyrics by:

U2
Eminem
BT :)

Another vote for Rush!

excerpt from "Witch Hunt":

The night is black, without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.

Features distorted in the flickering light,
Faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.

The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.

They say there are strangers who threaten us,
Our immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness to danger us
In our theatres and bookstore shelves,
That those who know what's best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand.

I don't exactly think lyrics when I think of these guys. More like big sweeping melodies and a kind of orchestral quality to the music. Sounds great, too bad I don't speak Icelandic. What I have heard though... doesn't sound like the guy SINGS too much... I dunno... maybe if you turn it up really loud...

BTW, My vote is for the Smashing Pumpkins.

<< All you people with Tool, Radiohead, REM, Pearl Jam, etc... how can you not say Smashing Pumpkins. Best lyrics ever. >>

Figures someone named Siva would say this...

I agree totally though... I tend to think of Radiohead along the same lines. Although I think Radiohead's Kid A left something to be desired in terms of lyrics... but OK Computer... my goodness... that was a #$%#ing great album.

Metallica

New blood joins this earth
and quikly he's subdued
Through constant pain disgrace
the young boy learns their rules

With time the child draws in
This whipping boy done wrong
Deprived of all his thoughts
the young man struggles on and on he's known
a vow unto his own
That never from this day
his will they'll take away

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven

They dedicate their lives
to running all of his
He tries to please them all
this bitter man he is
Throughout his life the same
he's battled constantly
this fight he cannot win
A tired man they see no longer cares
The old man then prepares
to die regretfully
That old man here is me

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub the unforgiven

You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub the unforgiven

How can you say a group has good lyrics when they don't write their own music? (i.e. boyz ii men)
