Which audio to hook up?

Like the title says. The manuals for both say they support both, so should I go with HD audio? Also, my front panel header has 1 HD audio plug, 1 AC-97 plug, and 10 little different colored plugs. Since there is only one spot for all these plugs, how should I put them in?

Thanks, Anandtech.

Read your mobo manual - some Gigabyte mobos have a BIOS setting that changes the FP Audio header from AC97 to some new standard. Both pinouts are diagrammed. Use the one that matches best. The separate wires are for if your pinout is different from either of the standards.

Did I say front panel header? Oops.

The manual for the mobo says that it supports HD audio and is equipped with realtek integrated audio 7.1 up to 8 channels.
Guess I should use that.

Remember, this is why you always RTFM carefully.
