The T&T thing ain't cutting it eh
ok I'll raise

Spent 7 months in a cancer ward, met a lot of great people and lost them.
Both parents in same hospital, same time
Neither survived
So many chemo sessions I lost count
Did not puke once
Several spine tap thingies
3 infections where I damn near bled out

3 children from 3 different women

I grew up in a bunkhouse with a coal stove for heat and went to the bathroom in an outhouse

Very few people have seen me frown, and nobody has ever seen me really mad

I can keep going, but I'm pretty confident
Recogize the shitniz :>

Heh, Pantlegz.

 I'm gonna go with this...

That was me after 30 though.

At 19, I had at least 50lbs more muscle plus regularly COMPETED in martial arts.

not that it's possible, but me at 19 would probably be equal to any of our best 4 here today.

and at 50 you're delusional. Saying you competed in martial arts is like saying you played sports, doesn't really mean shit.

You are my hero. +1 the womenz, OMG the dead. :awe:

Srsly, Earl, glad to hear you're doing well.

Pics of you with one of those sweet trophies?
At 20, I was also competing, though I wasn't in a heavy-weight division. Biggest fight was a tournament at Madison Square Garden; would have been Spring of '87 I believe. I lost. Friggen pajama-clad Kung Fu judge... Lame jumping roundhouse kick toward my shoulder, I blocked with my left and blasted the opponent in the chest with my right. He landed flat on his back on the floor. Judge gave him a point because "his toes touched my uniform."

But, if you competed that regularly back then, then you should *still* have enough flexibility to do a split today. You should *still* have enough skill to break through several layers of boards. Post the videos.

Depending on which art you practice none of those apply, But I agree alky is probably just trolling again. between BJJ and kickboxing I'm pretty flexible but there is no way I could do splits...

i'm a woman, i'll destroy you from the inside out and you wont even know it.

do i win?

😛

dunno, i could use my wiles. i'd take you out for a nice dinner, get drinks afterward, get you ready for a nice one night stand, "accidently" poke a hole in the condom, get you preggers, and destroy you from the inside out with a new bundle of joy that would be with you for the next 18-24 years.

lol so true. my son 5 has been in 2 martial arts tournaments. pretty much everyone that is in it got to "compete"

I gotta admit i am suprised that if you do BJJ you can't do the splits. i did hapkido (wich stole a bunch from jujitsu heh) and some of the moves you gotta be damn flexible.

saying that i at 25 i could do the splits. now? i can only get about 1/2 way down. maybe 3/4th if i spent time stretching and working on it.

my kids give me crap about it all the time heh

Competeing to me is full-contact, not point 'play'.

lol at being some kind of expert and not flexible at all. Let me guess all you need is a waist high kick. lolz.

People are so full of shit here.

*cough*cough* FTFY

child support? looks like you are on that pain train right with me. 😀

I'm flexible but it's more hamstring, glute and hipflexor and not so much groin. I can work rubber guard with some efficiency but doing the splits and attempting high kicks isn't something I do.

full contact doesn't really matter if it's something that doesn't translate well to an actual fight like TKD. Once the distance is closed the fight is over. I pray I get in a fight and the person on the other end of it lifts their leg above their waist because that means I've won... I've got a hand full of gold medals from the last year, I think I may know something. You, you're just old and trolling :awe:

:colbert: you win this round...but i'll be back.

edit: you didn't say you weren't cool with everything else. :sneaky:

First, to stop you where you are going with this....MMA has been around since martial arts have. Too many grew up accustomed to all the kiddies going to a Karate or TKD or just Boxing 'school'.

I took a mixture of several arts as well as a dedicated class focused on street fighting and defense.

It's a myth that any kick above waist level is going to make it easy for you to be grappled.

You have olympic golds? As far as gold medals go that's about the only one's that mean anything to everyone.

As far as old I am 41 this year...yeah way over the hill.

I know it's not me. Some of you are from military, very fit, did martial arts, etc...

But I can certainly kick your average ATOTer. I did my share of fighting in HS.

You deserve this for locking that thread, you humorless bastard. 😛
I was just helping enforce the rules. Because no one enjoys a train wreck of a thread more than I do. This one is headed that way, will they hit the breaks or keep barreling down the tracks? :ninja:

Probably the latter, now that you've spilled lube all over the tracks. :colbert:

I have a ikkyu in judo, a blue belt in bjj, a black belt in TKD, and I boxed for about 2 years. I've also trained for MMA. I still actively train in bjj and judo today.

If that doesn't put me over the top, I've seen every episode of TMNT, I own every Mortal Combat, Street Fighter, and Soul Caliber game, and I taken aikido lessons.

If that doesn't put me over the top, I own a LOT of guns and I train with them regularly.

If that doesn't put me over the top, I do cocaine! (Ok, I dont' do cocaine.....)
