newegg lists two video chipsets from ATI that are built into the motherboard

ATI Radeon IGP320
and
ATI RV100 (Integrated)

which one is better for games like Sims ?

how do either compare to the nVidia GeForce4 MX440 (Integrated) that is also available?

i would prefer to get ATI , i just have no idea how those two compare, thanks

Currently, ATI's core logic chipsets are very outdated in almost every respect. As far as I know, the very best Radeon IGP chip has Radeon 7500-level graphics. If you're looking to get a motherboard with on-board graphics, go for an nForce2-based board.

However, I'd personally recommend getting an add-in graphics card. The nForce2's graphics are akin to a GeForce4 MX which doesn't have DirectX 8 features (Pixel/Vertex shaders). And plus, any integrated graphics solution will suck away your system memory.

As an addendum to my post above:

If you're just trying to play something like The Sims, pretty much any integrated video (even the ATI stuff) will do fine. The Sims is not a very demanding game. But if you plan to play more graphics-intensive games as well, get a more powerful video solution.
