Which ATI card that I have is considered better?

My old 128mb Radeon 9500tx(?) AGP or this new card that came with my Dell,
the 128MB PCI Express? x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory??

I think my old radeon was pretty high end when i got it (2+ years ago), while the new card is considered a budget card?

Wouldnt one be AGP and the other PCI-Express?

Speedwise the 9500tx would edge out the X300SE, but the X300SE supports hardware acceleration for decoding video, and some other, newer, features.

The vanilla X300 is equal to the vanilla 9600, so your Radeon 9500 should be a bit faster.

It makes no difference whether the 9500 Pro is three years old and a smidgen faster or not. AGP and PCI-e are exclusionary in any situation other than with Asrock's S939Dual. That means you have a PCI-e slot only, and AGP doesn't plug into that slot.

thanx. I understand AGP and pci-e doesn't mix. i wasn't planning to swap the old card into the new system. I just wanted to see if my new system would have a weaker video compared to my old system with the radeon.

If it's a 9500 PRO he's talking about, the performance difference should be considerable in favor of the 9500. The 9500 PRO is an 8-pixel pipeline part equivelent to the 9600XT or so, the X300SE HYPERMEMORY wouldnt beat a vanilla 9600, especially since it's "Hypermemory".

Theres PCI-E 6800s on newegg for $99.

Faster for the same price.
