Hi guys, I am buying new laptop on budget, but obviously want as best as possible in performance. I am not in US, but budget would be around ~600$, though it can be more only if there is a very good reason for that.

I am leaning towards ASUS, because they produce reliable laptops.

1. ASUS K55VJ-SX199D -> http://www.skytech.lt/k55vjsx252d-a...x768-led-glare-intel-core-i5323-p-144674.html

- i5-3230M 2.6 Ghz (3.2 Ghz Turbo)
- Geforce GT 635M 2GB, 192 Bit
- 4 GB RAM

2. ASUS K56CB -> http://www.skytech.lt/k56cbxx102-asus-k56cb-156-led-i53317ugt-740m-2gb4gb-500gb-p-149844.html

- i5-3317U 1.7 Ghz (2.6 Ghz Turbo)
- Geforce GT 740M 2GB, 128 Bit
- 4 GB RAM

3. ASUS K56CM -> http://www.asusshop.lt/asus-nesiojami-kompiuteriai/asus-k56cm-nesiojamas-kompiuteris-i-8.html#tabs-2

- Core i7-3537U 2.0 GHz (3.1 Ghz Turbo)
- GeForce GT 635M, 2 GB
- 4 GB RAM
So are those 3 options decent? Which one is better and maybe you guys know better options for similar price? :) Thanks!

Do they sell lenovos there? What do you plan on doing with this laptop?

Yes they do! Here are all Lenovos: http://www.skytech.lt/nesiojamieji-...av=0&sort=5a&sand=0&grp=1&pagesize=500&page=1 But if you know certain good model then just let me know, I will check all other stores.

It's for regular student's stuff, internet, music, movies, games, nothing fancy. I know I am not getting good gaming laptop for this price, but I wanna do as best as I can.

Now I wonder if I need laptop with little SSD drive to keep windows there?

Out of the ones you mentioned I'd go for K56CB since it has a low voltage processor and a 7 series GPU.

But how does this processor compares to other? Isn't it much slower?

What about this option Asus K55VJ: http://www.asusshop.lt/asus-nesiojami-kompiuteriai/asus-k55vj-nesiojamas-kompiuteris-i-11.html

- i7-3630QM 2.4Ghz
- GeForce GT 635M
- 6GB DDR3

Or this:

Asus K56 -> https://www.varle.lt/nesiojami-komp...ompiuteris-asus-k56-156-hd-led-neblizgus.html

- i7-3537U
- GT635 2 Gb
- 8Gb DDR3
- Non-glossy (big plus)

This looks good, but weaker processor.

So guys, I came to those 2 options, which one you would recommend? Better CPU or better graphics card? Don't look at RAM, cause I will upgrade if I will buy with 4 GB anyways.

ASUS K56CB -> http://www.skytech.lt/k56cbxx102-asu...-p-149844.html

- i5-3317U 1.7 Ghz (2.6 Ghz Turbo)
- Geforce GT 740M 2GB, 128 Bit
- 4 GB RAM
- Anti-glare

Asus K56 -> https://www.varle.lt/nesiojami-komp...ompiuteris-asus-k56-156-hd-led-neblizgus.html

- i7-3537U 2 Ghz (3.1 Ghz Turbo)
- GT635 2 Gb
- 8Gb DDR3
- Anti-glare

it really depends what you're doing with the laptop, if you are trying to game go with the gt 740m, although not ideal, it would be noticeably better than the 635, but if you use photoshop and that stuff, go with the i7.

I'll play games from time to time and of course would prefer as best performance as possible, but as the same time I don't want to sacrifice all around speed of laptop for that.

I just don't know if I will notice the difference between the 2 processors doing regular stuff, like using multiple applications, watching movies, music, browsing, application execution time, etc. If the only reason to get i7 is when I am working with complex programs like Photoshop or similar, then I guess I would go for GT 740M :p

P.S. I am fan of RTS games, so and there CPU can bottleneck I would think so..?

i don't think there is a modern cpu that couldn't handle any RTS, at the same time I don't think there is any cpu that can bottleneck a gt 640m

Well my main i7 920 @ 2.66 Ghz CPU bottlenecks Starcraft 2, and performance increases when OC'ing to 3.66 Ghz. Unless by "handle" you mean just run; I am talking about good performance :)

Guys, what do you think is it worth getting:

Asus K56CB 15.6 LED HD / I3-3217U/GT 740M 2GB/4GB /750GB

This CPU is even weaker, so won't it bottleneck playing games and/or doing random stuff with computer?

EDIT:

Finally looks like found perfect choice for a good price: 15.6"/Intel Core i5-3337U,1.8GHz/ 4GB/750GB/NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
