which Android phone would you get in the near future?

so, my droid RAZR Maxx broke this past week... it's not DOA or anything, but USB cables no longer "click" into the socket so I've got to be extremely careful when plugging in my phone to make sure it doesn't fall out accidentally.

I talked to my work phone guy and he said that while I'm not technically eligible for a new phone now, he could push it up a few months rather than making me go through the hassle of repairing my phone now only to replace it in the summer. I'm at a loss of what to get, though.

I know there's a lot of buzz about the S4, but I'm curious to know what else is on the horizon. any "base model" phone is paid for by my company, but if I wanted to upgrade (say, from a 16gb model to a 32gb), I'd be paying the difference out of pocket.

my only real requirements:

-Verizon
-Android, not iOS

Motorola XFON is what I am waiting on. Supposedly will be near Nexus experience and available on all providers as well as through Google Play. All rumors to now, but sounds like it's worth a wait if you can.

What I'd consider getting currently on Verizon:
Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, or Droid DNA

Near future:
Galaxy Note 3

But as always, see the phones in person and decide for yourself.

Sucks that Verizon doesn't carry the HTC One.

IMO the best choice would be the S4 followed by the Note 2 (if the size is OK for you). Since the Note 3 is 4-5 months out, would be your call whether the S4 is more bang for your buck.

I don't know if the DNA battery life has been improved, but it wasn't very good last time I heard in the winter.

S4, unknown Moto phone that will probably release much later for Verizon (you know the drill), or Note 2.

This would be my first choice, if the overall specs are decent. Otherwise I will likely go for a Note 3. Planning to upgrade this Autumn.

This is why I want to leave Verizon. Their phone choices sucks compared to AT&T.

service/coverage feels like night and day, though, at least in North/Central Jersey. I get way more 4G coverage with VZ than I got with any other provider.

(I could go to AT&T if I really wanted to, but as long as I'm not paying the bill, I'm sticking with Verizon for the coverage)

The problem is that no one knows what it is -- it's just a bunch of rumors that may be about multiple devices.

So everyone can project into it whatever he wants.

Most likely a GS4 if anything. I'm able to get upgrade price in July but I hope I don't make a knee-jerk reaction and use it up while my GS3 is still going strong. I actually think the HTC One is a nice looking phone, but I'm still a little concerned about battery life. I'm less concerned about the removable battery part as long as there's enough there to get me through every day, but it has the same size battery as my GS3 (IIRC) and that doesn't seem like quite enough anymore.

I am switching from Sprint to Verizon. On Sprint, I can hit 4G outside (but not in house) and it's quick. With Verizon, I can get it in the house.
Set up the wife's Note II on Verizon last night. I'll stay with Sprint till the S4 comes out on Verzion then I'll add a line.

HTC One, then Sony Xperia Z, then Galaxy S4.

Read the thread next time. >_<

To the OP, I'm not sure what to tell you. Verizon gives you extremely slim pickings. I see that you're pretty pressed for a device.

If you can make it till the end of the month, the Galaxy S4 will be the best device on VZW.

Personally, I own the Droid DNA, and it's a pretty solid phone. The storage is annoying because you'll always run out of space. The battery life can last me anywhere from 10 hours on heavy use to about 16. It got so much better with the latest kernel.

Note 2 is, of course, always an option if you want an enormous device and a stylus.

Honestly, I'd recommend staying away from HTC (at least the DNA) on Verizon just because they're rumored to come out with the DNA+/One/Butterfly+/whatever the hell it's going to be.

Other than that, Motorola is and has been rumored to have something major in the pipeline for quite some time now. We might see something at Google I/O next week or later in the month.

That's truly about it.

if it were me id go get the razr hd maxx, i love motorola phones.

orif you want a newer phone, id wait for the "plus" versions of the gs4/one/optimus with snapdragon 800

My contract is up this month so for me I'm thinking HTC One or Samsung S4. But thats just me. Currently with Sprint. Cant decide which is better.
