Er... Midway?

Depends on your metrics I guess. If you care about "ambiance" or other such crud, than yes.. Midway would be classified as "ghetto".

However, I have yet to have a very much delayed flight into or out of this airport. I fly from the Chicago area to various locations at least twice a month, and avoid O'hare like the plague.

O'hare = you are guaranteed to be late if you are flying into or out of it, if there is a weather system *ANYWHERE* over *ANY* major airport in the US. Since O'hare hubs so much traffic, and their schedule is so tight during the normal "flying hours" - planes delayed an hour getting in from another airport send cascades of huge delays throughout the entire departure schedule of O'hare.

However, O'hare is okay "feature wise" in terms of if you have to hang out there. :)

I tend to like MSP a lot.. clean and well maintained, typically on-time and not overly delayed stuff. Somewhat big though.

Hate FLL - who is the idiot who came up with the idea of 4 seperate terminals with ZERO connecting er.. ANYTHING? Seriously.. if you have to go from terminal A to B, you have to go to the parking lot, and wait for some little shuttle thing to come around once every 30 minutes. Insane.

Otherwise, other airports are all pretty much the same. I have not flown into LAX yet, but I hear mixed opinions.

Heathrow..........OMG that place is tighter than a nuns chuff 24/7

and its so awkwardly designed....its all over the shop. 25 min bus ride between two of the furtherst terminals because the bus route would be ideal if you were driving a mini.

atlanta kinda feels the same, though ive always been too tired to really care.

albuquerque, NM airport was deserted when i went there one year. totally empty....it was wierd.

orlando is pretty cool....is massive, but well laid out

same with JFK even tho we got searched every 5 mins, it was still a easy airport to navigate.

Atlanta's airport was weird, everythign comes to one connecting pt, but you have to ride the tram thru each part CONSECUTIVELY to get there..pain if you are at the last terminal as I was, takes 20 mins to get to baggage claim

I always have bad luck getting into and out of IAH

PHX terminal 2 is great, I don't know what the guy was complaining about

Denver, always bumping people off of flights because the air is too light to support the planes weight due to the high altitude.

same here. atlantas airport sucks too.

How can you say this airport sucks? Considering how big it is it's very organized. I remember when I flew out to San Fransisco's airport. MAN, that place is so d@mn confusing. They were doing some construction inside the building so I'll give them a little leway.

Sky Harbor is butt ugly and if the moving sidewalks are shutdown, which is often, it is a long way hike between gates through that butt ugly airport. Try changing terminals. There is a shuttle between terminals but no signs indicating this fact or where to catch the shuttle. The slightest variations in weather shut the runways down. Add the world's rudest geezers to the mix, kicking and biting to be the first in line for early boarding, and you have a very unpleasant airport indeed.

Dulles

I have no pleasant memories of that godforsaken airport.

im' there like once a month...it's not THAT bad. they are also building a underground shuttle system to improve it.

and anyone mentioning DTW, have you been there since the reconstruction?

as far as worst airport, i fvckin' hate the one in Memphis.

Dulles sucks. The ambiance at Dulles is of a perpetual evacuation of foreigners from some third world capital in the midst of a coup. A total cluster held together only by the certainty that getting out is better than staying.

Dallas sucks. The terminal is extremely long and requires a train to get from one side to the other. Problem is, the last two times I've been there the train has broken. They can't ever keep that thing going. 2 missed flights so far at that airport.

Bangkok transferring to domestic. Experience only survivable thanks to my father in laws gold card.
London Gatwick. What hell would be like if you had to carry a suitcase.
London Heathrow. What hell would be like but on a larger area, will be greatly improved once the new terminal is complete however.

Oh! You just reminded me that the Seoul airport was the pits too. Transferred DL to KAL and rode this bus on the AOA. The bus driver was THE worst driver ever! On the throttle, off, over and over. It was like riding over constant speed bumps for 15 minutes. Was my mom and I on the way to Kai Tak...

Never did BKG domestic to intl. It did look the furball though. The taxi ride from the airport to downtown is probably the worst anywhere.

Yes, PIT sucks.

Providence is a very nice, albeit small airport.

I really like Philadelphia also, despite the fact that it is always crowded and it is huge. Plus, I met Mick Foley in the Philly airport, and he flew in the row in front of me from Philly to Norfolk.

HNL sucks pretty much. Main terminal looks like a converted parking garage. Hot as hell on a warm summer day since it's non air conditioned and the design of the building isn't optimal for the trade winds. Total lack of stores due to monopolistic contract the state set up (and got cheated since the vendor never paid in full). Employees are awful, even the chief of operations admits there is a major attitude problem out there that needs fixing. Finally, the reef runway is like 5 miles away from the gates so you end up taxi-ing forever.

Denver International and Dulles. Who's bright idea was it thinking it would be efficient to funnel everyone through the same check-in and security area? I don't think its ever taken less than 1-2 hours to get through there.

I've alwasy been able to catch a shuttle within a reasonable distance in Dallas. You should try moisant (now Louis Armstrong Airport). Now there's an armpit of an airport. Of course, that's N.O. for you.

MSP is pretty bad, I was also quite unimpressed by Las Vegas. Tiny, cramped, smoke everywhere, & the goddamn slots buzzing constantly.

Couldn't wait to get out of there.

Run? They do have a pretty decent shuttle system. I've never had to walk or run far in DFW.

I had a stopover at Manchester Airport (UK) and it sucked...too many smokers clogging up the air in teh waiting area. In the shops they sold tons of cigarettes, but on the cartons in large bold letters it said something like SMOKING RUINS YOUR HEALTH AND CAUSES CANCER. People still buy it though. From Manchester I was flying home to O'Hare, which has a good international terminal.
